Hello, χαῖρε, and salvē! I’m Dr. Robert Carpenter.

My Ph.D. in Ancient Mediterranean Studies is from the University of Missouri. My dissertation was about ancient comedy!

I like to say that I studied comedy because I can’t take anything too seriously.

But when my kids were little, I found out there weren’t many options for introducing them to the classics in fun, engaging ways.

So, The Classical Workshop was born as my way to bring the joy of classics to curious kids everywhere.

I set out to make exactly the kinds of books and games that I would want my own kids to have.

That’s why we make everything we sell 100% in the USA without the use of AI, and why we use only the best materials for our products.
