We’re very excited to announce that our first round of products is officially ready to ship! These products were both made by The Portland Puzzle Company. Their new factory in Marion, Indiana is right down the road from The Classical Workshop, so not only are these games made in the USA, but they’re also made locally! We are extremely proud of our relationship with The Portland Puzzle Company because they are as dedicated to quality as we are. Let’s take a quick look at the two products we’ve produced with them!
Mythology Match: A Memory Game
This children’s matching game brings the characters of Greek mythology to life for children ages 3+. Toddler board games can sometimes require difficult setup or complicated rules, but games like Mythology Match keep things simple. Select your tiles in pairs-more pairs for harder play, fewer pairs for easier play-and then shuffle them up. Arrange them face-down in rows and columns, then take turns flipping them and trying to match the characters! Coming Soon: our first book, The Mountains Are Sleeping!
We’re also very excited to announce our next product: a high-contrast board book for newborns and infants! The book is titled The Mountains Are Sleeping and is a translation of an ancient poem by the lyric poet Alcman. This poem is roughly 2,600 years old, and now it has been reimagined for modern bedtimes! High-contrast books are critical for newborns who are especially good at seeing things in sharp, well-defined patterns. Reading to infants with books that capture their attention is the best way to raise young readers from the earliest moments, and board books are made to stand up to all the abuse that babies can inflict. This book was translated by me (Robert Carpenter) and illustrated by Ally Frame (https://allyframe.com/). As always, no AI was involved in the production of this board book, and it was produced in the USA by Pint Sized Productions.
